Greg Larson is a painter based in Oregon whose work explores the emotional terrain between landscape, abstraction, and memory. With a background in oil and mixed media, Larson’s practice is marked by expressive mark-making and a painterly approach rooted in Modernist and Abstract Expressionist traditions. He studied art at the University of California, Santa Cruz and the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, where he developed a dual interest in structure and improvisation. His work has been shown in juried exhibitions and is held in private collections across the U.S. Larson continues to create from his studio in Central Oregon, where he draws inspiration from the natural world, internal stillness, and the unpredictable dialogue between artist and surface.
